The fun begins in the morning when you meet your Guide and the rest of the group at the Trailhead in Azusa. You will then set out for a five-mile, two hour hike to the Bridge to Nowhere. Located in the Angeles National Forest, this magnificent bridge over the San Gabriel River is the setting for the perfect Bungee Jump! Once the group has arrived you will take turns strapping into the harness and jumping off of the bridge. When it is your turn to take the plunge, you can choose to jump backwards or superman dive face forwards. This thrilling adventure ends with a five-mile hike back to the trailhead during which you will have the chance to re-live the moment with all of the new friends you’ve met on the journey.

The Bungee Jumping Experience is offered Saturdays and Sundays year-round, subject to availability. Trips typically begin between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM.

How Long Is It

The Bungee Jumping Adventure is a full day experience. It includes a 2 hour hike to the bridge, one Bungee Jump from the Bridge (unless an Additional Jump Option is selected) and a 2 hour hike back. The total duration of this experience varies depending on the season and the number of participants.

The Bridge To Nowhere Bungee Jumping may be rescheduled by the Guide due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Please wear flexible and comfortable weather appropriate clothing and footwear appropriate for hiking and the outdoors. The trail crosses a creek 6 times or more. The water ranges from 1 to 3 feet deep. You must wear shorts and shoes that can get wet. Bring a change of socks, shoes, or sandals for the jump.

Participation is limited to individuals over 12 years of age. Participants under the age of 18 must have written permission from a parent. All participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

All equipment is included. Bungee cords are approximately ten times stronger than the forces they experience and all equipment for bungee jumping is rated at over 4000 pounds. Each jumper wears two independent harnesses. A seat harness supports the waist, thighs and buttocks while a chest harness supports the chest, back and shoulders.

There is no maximum weight limit for this experience, however there is an additional fee of $30 for any participant weighing over 265lbs.

This operator has the only state-licensed bungee jumping bridge in California and has been in operation since 1989 with a perfect safety record.

Participants must bring their own packed lunch and beverages.

Participants are able to bring guests along as spectators. There is a $10 fee for each spectator which must be paid upon reservation.

Bungee jumping for the first time was absolutely thrilling, but it is not worth the 5 mile hike to get to the bridge and 5 miles back. I would go bungee jumping again, but the 10 mile hike is too much. The hike is perfect for those who are very active or enjoy long hikes.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BUNGEE!

This was my first time bungee jumping and I received a gift certificate for the jump. I would have never done this on my own. The group that was in charge of us was very nice, funny and did a very good job. I loved the entire experience ....YES, even the 5 mile hike both ways. We had a group of 4 and we left before everyone else at the end of the day, got back to the car without any problems and we didn't get lost. The only downfall ...and I say little downfall, was that there was hardly any parking when we caravaned up to the park. We had to make parking and I got back to my car in time, but I noticed everone behind me was getting tickets. I think it would be better to go over instructions and sign waivers and stuff at the park and not down in Azusa in a parking lot and then caravan up the mountain. It would save a lot of time. Over all experience FANTASTIC!

Bungee Experience

The bungee jumping experience was incredible! What a great team of experts who made it a lot of fun and very safe. The only little inconvenience was the hike, in particular hiking back to our cars when a group of us had to do it by ourselves because the staff had to put things away and stay behind, and we almost got lost. I think they should have plenty of staff members from and to along the hiking trail at all times. Other than that, magnificent!!!

Bungee Jumping Review

The bungee experience itself was great but the hike to was not. The hike was lead by one person who walked fast and left us behind. We were lost for a long time and never saw people. Finally, we ran into some hikers who told us we were on the total wrong side of the river and where to go. Our two hour hike took us about 3 1/2 hours to get there through downed logs and catcus that we all got cut up. I would highly suggest putting another guide with the group at the back of the hikers to make sure that everyone arrives at the correct destination and god forbid anyone got hurt.

Everything I Expected

When it comes to the Bungee Jump, I actually rate that a FIVE! When it comes to the hike, I thought that was pretty cool too. But the reason why i gave this a 4 is because not enough clarity is given for preparation for this experience. First off, you must understand, this hike is not for the weak. This hike on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being most strenuous) is a 7. You have to cross the freezing cold river which, depending on the day you are there, could be above the waist. So they should really say to bring plastic zip-lock bags to put your essentials in - keys, wallets, food, cameras, etc. Also, the hiking is not always on a trail outside the river part. There are some steep areas that if you misstep, you will absolutely hurt yourself if not plummet down the side of a cliff. I wore tennis/running shoes as the majority did - wrong choice. You should absolutely go out and buy hiking shoes before you go on this experience. Running/Tennis shoes are slippery when stepping on already slippery areas and sides of cliffs which you must do to reach the bridge. They should really make that clear. Once you arrive at the bridge, you better have a dry pair of socks because the ones you wore to get there will be drenched by then. Also, bring warm clothes regardless of what the weather says for that day. When the sun hides behind the clouds, it's cold. When you are all the way in the canyon hiking, the sun is hidden and its cold. The jump itself was awesome and even more than that was very safe. That was my biggest concern, but the Bungee America people are thorough and safe. VERY SAFE! And the experience of bungee jumping was incredible. They give you about 30 minutes of preparation lecture and explain why it is safe. Put me at ease.. The hike back is on your own. We took some wrong river crossings which led to crossing in deep parts of the river and more crossings than necessary. In the end of the day, we had a blast. Another thing about the phone number they have listed for people to call, we called the day before to confirm whether the experience was cancelled or not (because of rain and windy weather forecasts) and we got a voicemail. We called several times and left messages and received no calls back. We were not sure if it was going to happen until we arrived at the location and saw the Bungee America guy drive up. So they did not have an adequate number or receptionist to get info when it was most needed.

Question: I would like to buy the Bridge to Nowhere Bungee Jump for my daughter who does not like to hike. Can she forgo the hike and drive to the jump location?

Answer: You cannot drive to The Bridge to Nowhere. The road was washed out way back in 1938 and the closest road is 5 miles away. It is one of the things that makes this bungee jumping experience so unique!
Question: Are we allowed to camp by the bridge and then hike back the next day?

Answer: You may camp near the bridge only if the bungee staff is camping that night. You are responsible for all of your equipment and supplies and no camp fires are permitted. The decision of the guides to camp is usually last minute. You will need to call the day before to confirm if you'll be able to camp or not.
Question: I would like to buy this gift for my friend who has always dreamed of Bungee Jumping, but I am not sure his level of athleticism. How difficult is the hike?

Answer: The hike is considered moderate by most standards and only involves a 500 ft elevation gain, however, the trail is rocky, there are 6 river crossings along the way and the guides walk at a brisk pace.
Question: My husband and I received this as an anniversary present and we would like to know if we should bring lunch or if that is provided. What else would we need to bring?

Answer: You are responsible to bring food and drinks. No alcohol or glass permitted. Depending on the season you might want rain gear, a warm jacket, hats, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, and always a change of clothes waiting for you in the car. Your shoes will get wet, so you want to bring an extra pair of socks and shoes for the jump. If you're taking pictures we recommend wearing bright colored clothing for the jump itself. Remember, this is an all day adventure and once you depart you will not have access to anything in your car.
Question: I received this Experience as a birthday present and would like to know if I am allowed to bring my dog on the hike to the Bridge to Nowhere?

Answer: Dogs are permitted under strict guidelines: Dogs must be well socialized with both people and other dogs. Dogs must be excellent swimmers with swift water river experience. Absolutely No barking All Dogs are required by the Angeles National Forest Service to be kept on a leash. Do not allow them to do their duty on or near the trail. Dogs must have backcountry experience. The hike is very rocky and usually takes a toll on your puppy’s feet. If your dog is not an experienced hiker, their feet may become injured.
Question: I'd like to purchase one jump for a friend and would like to accompany her on the hike, but not the jump itself. Would I be able to accompany her to document the jump without jumping?

Answer: There is a $10 fee for each spectator which must be paid upon reservation.
