Instructors from Scratch DJ Academy have been teaching students of all skill levels and music genre preferences for nearly a decade. Their roster of instructors includes innovators and icons of the art forms, accomplished club DJ's, decorated battle champions, experienced producers, and more. Plus, their collective knowledge and varied perspectives provides an unmatched learning experience. You will learn to be a DJ from the best in the business.

DJ Lessons

This was fun! A one-on-one hands on experience where an instructor tells you the basics of the turntables and music theory. You get to scratch alongside the DJ for the last 15 minutes of class. Cool, but it felt like they held back a little to make me want to buy the class lessons. Overall, great fun and I wish I had more time!

Question: Good morning, I was hoping you could tell me whether or not this experience is hands on or not?

Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. This is a hands on lesson rather than a demonstration class.
Question: At what time do the DJ lessons begin and end?

Answer: The DJ Lessons are offered 7 days a week, afternoons and evenings. The appointment times are subject to availability. You will be able to choose which time frame you prefer, afternoon or evening at the time you request a reservation. The lesson will be as long as you choose. The standard lesson is one hour, but you may extend that time to a 2 or 3 hour lesson for an additional cost.
Question: Can you give me some examples who past DJs who taught the lessons were?

Answer: DJ Lessons take place at the World's First DJ School, Scratch DJ Academy, founded by Jam Master Jay, legendary DJ of Run DMC.
