Enjoy the thrill of tandem hang gliding over Georgia’s beautiful Lookout Valley. During this exciting discovery flight you will soar like an eagle along side a Certified Instructor and enjoy a beautiful bird’s eye view of Lookout Mountain.

You and your Instructor will be towed to an altitude of approximately 1500 feet via a special ultra-light aircraft. Once released, you will enjoy a 12 to 20 minutes scenic flight over Northern Georgia's Lookout Valley.

Whether you are looking to begin a new hobby or you are simply looking to try it, you’ll be able to say you've soared and you may purchase in-flight photos to prove it!

The Tandem Hang Gliding Flights are offered Thursday through Monday year-round, subject to availability. Flights are typically scheduled between 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

How Long Is It

The Hang Gliding Over Lookout Mountain and Valley has an average flight time of 15 to 20 minutes. Flight times may vary depending on the weather. The total duration is approximately 1 hour, unless and Extended Flight Option is selected.

Weather

The Lookout Mountain Hang Gliding may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to severe weather such as high winds or heavy rain.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably. Layers, flat rubber-soled athletic shoes and sunglasses are recommended for this aerial adventure. Participants will be provided with all necessary equipment.

Participation in the Hang Gliding Over Lookout Mountain Experience is limited to individuals weighing less than 230lbs and are at least 12 years of age. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Question: If I choose the Introductory Lesson will I still get to take the Tandem Flight?

Answer: The introductory lesson includes 5 solo flights on a small hill followed by a 1500 ft tandem flight with your instructor!
Question: What is the weight limit to participate in the Hang Gliding Over Lookout Mountain?

Answer: The weight limit is 230lbs for this experience. Please be aware if you are approaching the limit there is greater chance of rescheduling due to weather as conditions need to be more stable.
Question: I have never been hang gliding before, but was just given this gift for my birthday. Can I bring a camera with me?

Answer: No cameras are allowed on the tandem flight. There is too much risk of dropping it and damaging your camera, or worse, hitting a spectator. If you'd like photos of the experience let your instructor know and they can take pictures for you. There is a fee for that service that can be paid directly to the flight school.
Question: I bought my husband the Hang Gliding Experience in Georgia. Is there a good place for me to go and watch and take pictures?

Answer: You can accompany him to the experience and hang out in the big field they take off from. There is plenty of room so feel free to bring a picnic lunch and even a frisbee to toss around if you'd like.
