Explore San Francisco during one of three scenic Segway Tours and pick your own Bay Area adventure!

No matter which tour you choose: Fisherman's Wharf and Waterfront; Golden Gate Park; or Sunset Tour of Chinatown, Little Italy, Wharf and Waterfront. The fun of this experience gift begins with a 30 minute training course. During this session, you will learn the necessary Segway skills that will help you travel safely up and down the beautiful Streets of The Golden Gate City.

Incredible views, a bit of history and fun are all in store regardless of the narrated Segway adventure selected! From Municipal Pier and Aquatic Park, Fisherman's Wharf and its picturesque fishing harbors, to the National Maritime Museum and the historic sailing ships at Hyde Street Pier, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and more - hop on two wheels and view San Francisco via a Segway!

The San Francisco Segway Tours are offered seven days a week year-round, subject to availability.

How Long Is It

The San Francisco Segway Scenic Tours include a 25-30 minute training session have a total duration of approximately 2½ hours.

Weather

The San Francisco Segway Adventures run light rain, shine or fog, but may be rescheduled due to severe weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably for the weather. Flat, rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this Segway Adventure. Flip flops, open toed sandals and high heels are not permitted. Rain ponchos and knit gloves are available for guests.

Additional Information

Participation in the San Francisco Segway Tours is limited to individuals 12 years of age or older weighing between 100 and 250 pounds. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered by the Instructor to be unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate

Every tour makes numerous stops for photos, so don't forget your camera! Each participant will receive a radio receiver with earbuds to ensure you don't miss any details on the sights along the way. Segways have handlebar storage bags for small purses or light jackets. Bulky items must be left at home or in your car. Helmets and safety vests are provided, but you may wear your own bike helmet if you wish to.

Riders MUST be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without any assistance or use of a handrail, be able to stand for 2½ hours, respect road signs, pedestrians, bikes and cars and wear the helmets and safety vests provided.

Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Gratuities for the tour guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

Segway Tour Sausalito

A really fun event. By the time we'd finished the 45 minutes of training, riding the segway felt natural. The tour takes you along the shore front of Sausalito which is very pretty. Jeff our instructor and tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided many interesting facts about the area and it's history. Jeff also recommended some great places to eat in Sausalito. The Bay Model was fascinating, so we plan to visit that again when we have more time.

Answer: Yes, to insure safety all participants must take the training class. This is included in the overall time of the tour.
Question: Can I just rent the Segway and go on my own tour?

Answer: The Segways are not available for rent. You must attend the tour.
Question: I'd like to purchase a Segway tour in the Bay area for my friend. Can I buy the certificate for him and then let him decide which tour he would like?

Answer: Absolutely. The Experience Days Certificate for the San Francisco Segway Tour is valid for all of the locations listed. The recipient can choose his or her start location when they redeem the certificate for a reservation.
Question: How fast can a Segway go?

Answer: The segways on the San Francisco tour top out at about 10 mph. You'll be traveling between 8 and 10 mph during the tour.
Question: Is there parking near the start of the tours?

Answer: There are paid parking garages near the different starting locations. DO NOT USE STREET PARKING! The maximum length of the meters is two hours and the tours last longer than that. You will not be reimbursed for any parking costs.
