Explore one of Chicago’s tastiest neighborhoods during a three-hour beer tasting tour of the Windy City. Discover where to find some of the best beer in town and learn a bit about the rich history of Chicago.

This Chicagoland Beer Tour begins when you meet with your friendly and knowledgeable Guide in the Loop. From here your Guide will escort you to four venues where you’ll enjoy generous samples of ice cold beer at each location. Carefully selected for their contribution to Chicago culture, each venue will highlight not only mouth-watering brews, but also something unique in its own right – whether that be menu items, décor and entertainment, history or the best selection in town.

So whether you are looking to learn more about the history of Chicago, where to find the best beer or a unique gift for family and friends, this Chicago Beer Tasting Tour is the Ticket!

The Chicago Beer Tours are offered Thursday thru Saturday, April thru November subject to availability. Tours typically begin between 2:30 PM.

How Long Is It

The Chicago Beer Tastings have a length of 3 hours and a total duration of approximately 3¼ hours.

Weather

The Chicago Pub Crawl Tours take place in all weather, snow, rain, sleet or shine, but reservations may be rescheduled by the Guide due to sever weather conditions.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably in layers for the season. Flat walking shoes and layers are recommended for this culinary adventure.

Additional Information

Tours include a half mile to a mile and a half leisurely walk. Price includes all beer tastings and one food pairing. Participants must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid Photo ID.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made and locations visited are subject to change. Participants are encouraged to bring spending money as they will have the opportunity to purchase additional food and beverages.

Gratuities for your Guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

All changes to reservations for the Chicago Beer Tasting and Bar Tour require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

I'll start by the one downside was the separate locations however it wasn't to cold out it was a nice walk. The gentleman who guided us through the tour where knowledgeable and great. The beer was awesome being able to taste a variety and understand how they were made was very insightful. This is a definite recommend!

Question: I am planning a bachelor party weekend in Chicago and think this would be a fun thing to do. How much beer will we actually be served during the tour?

Answer: The stops are subject to change and the focus of the tours are to introduce as many varieties as possible. From Pilsners and Lagers to Porters and Stouts. The size of the tastings may vary during the tour, but typically it amounts to the equivalent of 4 beers.
Question: I live in Chicago and received an Experience Gift Card for the Beer tasting tour. Will we just be bar hopping around different neighborhoods tasting beer? Or is there more too it?

Answer: The tours are much more than just a "Beer Stroll" or "Bar Hop". All tour locations focus on the history and stories of the neighborhoods and how beer helped shape the Chicago. You will also learn about the beer itself. A lot of people from Chi-Town attend the tours, and they've even had participants attend the tour for the stories without tasting the beer!
Question: I would like to give the Chicago Beer tour to my sister for her birthday. Do I have to choose the tour for her, or can she decide? Will you please tell me a little more about each tour?

Answer:
During the Lakeview & Lincoln Park Tour you will learn about the first brewery in the city, prohibition and Capone while enjoying bacon tastings.
During the Loop Tour you will learn the basics of Chicago’s Sinful history and devour a slice of Stuffed Pizza.
During the Bucktown and Wicker Park Tour you will learn about Chicago's pioneers, immigration and of course beer, and chow down on a Chicago Style Hot Dog.

You can either choose the tour at the time of purchase, or you can choose to purchase on open certificate which will allow your Sister to pick which tour she would like to go on when she redeems the certificate.
Question: My parents gave me this tour as a gift, but I do not own a car. Where are the start locations for these tours and can I take the L?

Answer: Yes, all of the Chicago Beer Tasting start locations are located near either the Brown or Blue lines. The tours are subject to change, so the exact start locations for the tours will be provided once your reservation has been confirmed.
