As you listen to your educational guide provide you seafaring history of Rockport Harbor, you will round the Indian Island Lighthouse where you will learn the significance of the lighthouses in this historic port.

Depending on wind and tide you will cross the bay to the birthplace of Andre the seal-Robinson's Rock. There are dozens of Harbor Seals that call this rock home, as well as porpoise in the surrounding waters. On your return you may even spot the Bald Eagles nest on Mark Island.

Does Weather Impact Sailing Experience Gifts

The Harbor Schooner Sails may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Sailing Experience Gifts

Dress comfortably. Flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and sunglasses are recommended for this sailing adventure. As it tends to be cooler on the water a sweater or light jacket is recommended.

What To Know Before You Go

The Schooner HERON is a new 65' Schooner yacht built (2003) and sails out of Rockport, Maine. The Ship was designed by the famous yacht designer John G. Alden in 1929 and was one of his favorite design. The HERON is a traditional wooden vessel built of the finest materials and to the highest quality yacht standards. She is a real work of art and a feast for the eyes. With a roomy cushioned cockpit and spacious decks, guests can enjoy a relaxing sail in true comfort.

Complimentary hot tea, coffee, cocoa and cookies are available aboard the Ship. Soft drinks may be purchased with cash. Guests are more than welcome to bring along beer, wine, and other snacks. Large coolers are not permitted.

Gratuity for your Captain and Crew is not included and may be extended following your Sail.
