Drift over the beautiful countryside of Nashville on this breathtaking Balloon Ride. The excitement of this hour long Flight begins at sunrise or just before sunset when you meet with your friendly Pilot and his Crew.

After heading out to the perfect launch locate for the day. The Crew will unpack the rig and begin setting up for the flight. Once the Pilot has heated the air inside the hot air balloon until it becomes "lighter than air,” the air balloon will gracefully ascend into the sky. Next, it’s time to hop into the basket and prepare for the breathtaking views that await. You and the rest of the passengers will float silently above this Blues and Country Paradise overlooking Nashville’s diverse array of prairie trees and grasses. Get a glimpse of the indigenous wildlife in their natural habitat as your Pilot guides the basket over the scenic views of the Cumberland River, Centennial Park and more. You may even have the opportunity to fly over the beautiful Arrington Vineyards!

The Nashville Hot Air Balloon Rides are offered seven days a week year-round, subject to availability. Flights take place at Sunrise and two hours prior to Sunset. Sunrise and Sunset times will vary upon the time of year the flight is scheduled. Sunset flights are offered October thru April only.

The Hot Air Balloon Rides have a typical flight length of 1 hour and a total duration of approximately 3 to 3½ hours.

Weather

The Air Balloon Flights Over Nashville may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather. If the Balloon Flight is cancelled by the Pilot, it will be rescheduled for a mutually convenient alternative date.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this open air adventure.

Participation in the Hot Air Balloon Experience is limited to individuals weighing less than 200lbs and less than 6'5" tall. Participants must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes, should be at least 8 years of age and also a minimum of 4' tall. In general, participants should be able to jump off a chair (18 inches high) and be able to get in and out of the basket, unassisted.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered by the Pilot to be unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Gratuity may be extended to your Pilot at your discretion following the flight.

Q: Please can you tell us how it all began for Ace High Ballooning?

Living next door to Dennis Floden, aka; Captain Phogg (First World Hot Air Balloon Champion), I took my first balloon flight in 1973. Working and crewing to pay for my lessons, I earned my FAA Pilot License in 1977.

Q: Where did the passion for selling hot air balloon rides stem from?

Flying passengers for Captain Phogg’s Balloon Corporation of America was an enjoyable way to support my ballooning habit and build hours. Watching the expressions of people’s faces when they take their first balloon flight is priceless, I love to share the wonderful sport of ballooning with others.

Q: What differentiates your hot air balloon experiences from others on the market?

Safety first, then ensuring that our customers get the best balloon experience possible by flying higher, longer, contouring/tree topping and occasionally a splash & dash.

Q: What would you say is the best part of the experience you offer?

My flying skills have been honed over decades of flying, learning from other leading balloon operations around the country on how to best entertain passengers and always delivering more than what is promised.

Q: Who would you say your experience is most suited for?

Kids from 6 to 96 (oldest passenger to date). Everyone should fly in a balloon at least once in their lifetime. Lately we have been getting a lot of bucket listers.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to mention?

Mornings are the best time to fly in a balloon. Even for those people that think they are not morning people, it is definitely worth getting up early for!

Question: I'm interested in purchasing the Hot Air Balloon Flight over Nashville as a surprise for my girlfriend. Before the end I plan to propose. Is there a way we could fly over a sign or message if I go out and put it up the night before?

Answer: While a Hot Air Balloon is a great place to get engaged, because the balloon relies on the wind to steer there is no way to guarantee you would be able to fly over pre-placed sign. We also recommend using a 'dummy' engagement ring as they can be tough to spot from 1500 feet!
Question: I have an elderly grandfather that has never been in a Hot Air Balloon before and I'd love to purchase this flight for him. He has limited mobility. Would this Hot Air Balloon flight be a good gift for him if I help him in and out of the basket?

Answer: Unfortunately this flight is not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. The balloon company asks that you be able to get into and out of a 4 foot high basket on your own. Plus, the landing zone is not guaranteed and you may end your balloon tour on rocky or uneven terrain.
Question: What should I wear on the Hot Air Balloon flight? Is there space to bring an extra bag in the basket?

Answer: Typically it is recommended that you dress for the flight like you would on the ground for the time and day of the flight. Because Hot Air Balloons are pushed by the wind there is no wind chill factor! Unfortunately, because of limited space in the basket, you will not be permitted to bring an extra bag. However a camera with a camera strap is strongly recommended.
Question: Why are flights only offered at Sunrise or Sunset?

Answer: Hot Air Ballooning is extremely dependent upon appropriate wind and weather conditions. Launches take place early in the morning at Sunrise or a few hours prior to Sunset because this is when the winds are calmest. As safety is of the highest priority, flights will not take place when the conditions are not favorable for a safe flight, i.e when there is a chance of low visibility due to fog, rain, snow or excessive wind.
Question: I was hoping to give this Balloon Ride to my parents for their anniversary. My Dad is 325lbs and my Mom is 200lbs, is that going to be a problem?

Answer: Participation in the Hot Air Balloon Experience is limited to individuals weighing less than 220lbs. Individuals over 200lbs may still enjoy the flight, however they are required to purchase two tickets. In this case, you would need to purchase a total of three tickets in order for your parents to enjoy the hot air balloon ride.
