The experience begins when you meet your knowledgeable, local Guide at the Washington Monument.  You and the rest of the guests will then walk though Baltimore’s cultural center, one of the most beautiful urban areas in the Country, while on your way to local eateries. Where once grand mansions are now galleries, museums, shops and restaurants, you will be able to take in the enchanting history of Mount Vernon. Devour scrumptious dishes at several tastings that feature a variety of cuisine including long standing restaurants and shops as well as trendy new hot spots. Delight your tastebuds with upscale new American cuisine, Korean inspired American classics, Chesapeake crab inspired dishes and more!

The Mt. Vernon Culinary Tours are offered Thursdays, year round, subject to availability. Tours typically begin at 5:30 PM.

How Long Is It

The Walking Food Tours of Mt. Vernon have a tour length of approximately 3 hours and a total duration of approximately 3½ hours.

Weather

The Baltimore Food Tours take place in all weather conditions, but may be rescheduled by the Guide due to sever weather conditions.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this culinary adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

Tours finish within three blocks of the starting point and include 1½ to 2 miles of walking. There are typically three to five stops along the tour, each stop will last between 20 and 25 minutes.

Enough food is served that the average stomach will leave full. All dishes are served sitting down, so you can enjoy the ambiance of each restaurant while trying their specialties, and hearing their stories. All food and drinks served are included in the price of the tour.

Eating a light brunch before the tour rather than lunch is recommended. The dishes you will try resemble small meals rather than traditional tastings. Craft beer samples will be available at one stop and participants must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID to sample. Complimentary water or other beverages will be available at all stops. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased during the tour from the restaurant(s).

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made. With advanced notice vegetarian options maybe provided. Bathrooms are available at each location.

Gratuities for your tour guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.
