Enjoy a beautiful morning kayaking on Lake Tahoe from Sand Harbor Beach with this active eco-tour. During this tour, departing from the Sand Harbor into the waters of the pristine Lake Tahoe, you will be able to view hidden natural gems only seen from the water.

The Sand Harbor kayaking tour begins at Sand Harbor Beach near Incline Village, Nevada on the Northeast shore of Lake Tahoe. Expert guides will lead you through the warmer waters of the East shore. Learn about the geology, geography, ecology, natural and human history of Lake Tahoe as you paddle past large boulders that jut out of the water, and around white granite rocks. Enjoy a stop for lunch on a beautiful north shore beach where you can take a dip or soak up some sun before heading back to Sand Harbor.

Take in the beauty of Lake Tahoe on this moderately hard kayak tour providing you with a memorable and active experience all while you enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

The Lake Tahoe Sand Harbor Kayak Trip may be rescheduled by the Guide due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably in clothing and footwear that dry quickly. Layers, sandals or water shoes, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and swimsuits are recommended for this kayaking adventure.

Sand Harbor Kayaking On Lake Tahoe is designed to accommodate beginners as well as experienced kayakers. The difficulty/fitness level for this tour is designated as Moderate. All equipment is included and instruction is provided.

Tours will stop for lunch on a secluded beach. Participants may choose to take a dip in the water or lay in the sand to soak up the sun. Lunch will consist of deli sandwiches, fruit, snacks and water.

Individuals must be 10 years of age or older to participate. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Appropriate PFDs are available for all age levels. Dogs are not permitted.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Very Nice Kayak Tour

Kayaking was a very nice and relaxing trip. The pace was not too challenging which allowed for enjoyment of the silence of the waters and beautiful views. The East Coast waters are beautifully turquoise. However, the tour took 5!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience with Tahoe City Kayak. We both recently moved to Sacramento from NY and were excited to visit Lake Tahoe for the first time. I had previously purchased the 'Sand Harbor Kayak Trip' from Experience Days as an anniversary present and was very anxious for this trip. When we arrived at Sand Harbor, we were amazed with the beauty of the area. We were even more amazed by the easy, fun and informative trip provided by our guide. The guide accommodated our small group (we were joined by an amateur photographer/dentist from Los Angeles, who was far more experienced with kayaking) in a way that enabled everyone to go at their own pace without frustrating others in the group. He was attentive, cheerful and offered the experience of a lifetime. While we would've appreciated the beauty of our trip regardless the activities we chose, it would not have been anywhere near as special without his guidance. The excursion was completely unhurried, with plenty of time for sightseeing, lunch and swimming. Carl infused our tour with fun and educational information about the area and the various points of interest that we passed. We spent the entire trip laughing and joking and while I found kayaking to be strenuous, it was ALWAYS enjoyable and fun. THANK YOU!!!!!

Question: Does the Sand Harbor Kayaking use single or tandem kayaks?

Answer: The tour utilizes both. If you are going with another participant or a group you may request what type of kayaks you would like to use.
Question: How strenuous is this tour? I would like to take my daughter for her birthday, but we have never kayaked before.

Answer: The tour is defined as moderate. You're on a lake so you don't have to battle waves or strong currents (usually). But it does last 4 to 4 1/2 hours.
Question: What happens if the tour is cancelled for bad weather?

Answer: If the tour is cancelled for bad weather you will be rescheduled directly by the vendor.
Question: In the tour description it says we stop for a lunch break. Is lunch included in the price or do we need to pack our own?

Answer: The lunch, which is a deli sandwich, fruit snacks and water, is included in the price of the tour.
